THE MISSION

This initiative was born from the book Energy-Based Safety: A Scientific Approach to SIF Prevention, written after two decades of research and collaboration with hundreds of professionals committed to preventing Serious Injuries and Fatalities (SIFs). In that same spirit of collective effort, 100% of the author's proceeds from the book are being reinvested into the next generation. The Fund supports students, researchers, and institutions dedicated to preventing SIFs with science. Every book purchased contributes directly to this mission. This site was created to share that vision, explain how the funds are used, and celebrate the impact we can make...together.

EBS SCHOLARSHIPS

The Energy-Based Safety Scholarship Fund supports students and early-career professionals who are committed to advancing Serious Injury and Fatality (SIF) prevention through science and practice. Funded entirely by proceeds from Energy-Based Safety: A Scientific Approach to Preventing Serious Injuries and Fatalities, the scholarship aims to equip the next generation of safety scientists with the resources, education, and opportunities they need to drive meaningful change in the field.

EBS LIBRARY

The EBS Library is a growing collection of donated Energy-Based Safety books made available at no cost to students and to safety professionals in developing countries. Its purpose is to extend access to resources where cost may be a barrier, while also supporting the EBS Scholarship Fund. Organizations that purchase extra copies of the book can choose to contribute them to the library. For example, a company that needs six books might order ten and donate the extra four. It’s a simple and impactful way to share knowledge more broadly while advancing the mission.

HOW TO HELP

The best way to support the mission of Energy-Based Safety is to order the book and, if possible, place a bulk order. Early sales make a big difference in the visibility and impact of the work. Even more powerful is contributing extra copies to the EBS Library, which provides free access to students and professionals in under-resourced areas. Every book purchased supports the Energy-Based Safety Scholarship Fund, and every donated copy extends the reach of this work. Together, these simple actions help fuel research, support the next generation, and bring proven tools to the people who need them most.

CONTRIBUTORS

We are deeply grateful to the organizations and individuals who support the mission of Energy-Based Safety by placing bulk orders and/or donating books to the EBS Library. These contributions not only help spread critical knowledge across industries, but also make it accessible to students and professionals in regions where resources are limited. By investing in the wider distribution of this work, these supporters are helping to advance the science of SIF prevention and ensure the next generation has the tools they need to carry it forward.
